The joys of a fake nose, take two!

I went to see the plastic surgeon again today. He has scheduled my surgery for August 11th. He said that he will give me some Valium or Xanax to take before I come in and that he will also give me something to help me sleep the night before. Once I get to the office he will inject the local anesthetic and then make an incision inside my nose. He'll go up past the tip of my nose to the dorsum and then he will use the rasp to take some of the bone off. I will have to wear the splint again, which I am not at all happy about but I kind of expected it. Hopefully it will be a pretty quick recovery and not too painful.

Clever Curly

While we were outside in the back yard Alton decided he needed a drink and would get it by himself.

The joys of a fake nose.

I went and saw my plastic surgeon last week. He isn't happy with the way the bridge of my nose looks. (Neither am I) It still has a slight bump on it which shouldn't be there. So he wants me to come back in a month and if it's still there he is going to use a local anesthetic and then take the bone down more using a rasp. Sounds fun doesn't it? Just the thought of it makes me feel kind of sick. I hope he's planning on giving me some kind of medicine to make me out of it. I don't know how the whole thing will work but I am nervous about it.

So........stay tuned for the continuation of the journey to a new nose.

I'm keeping instacare in business.

The last few days have been very interesting. I haven't been to instacare in years and years...until Friday. Since than I have been twice. I smashed my thumb in the door on Thursday and Justin was worried that I might have broken it. So he took me to instacare on Friday night. Luckily it wasn't broken. The nail is purple and they put it in a splint but it's okay.
Then yesterday I was at maverick getting gas. I hit the top of my foot on a piece of metal that was sticking out from off of the cement that surrounds the pumps. I thought it hurt but just went on to try and get gas. I couldn't get the pump to work so I told Justin I needed his help. While I walked over to the door of the van I looked down at my foot and there was blood dripping down my foot and into my shoe. I showed Justin and he quickly got out to bandage it up. He got it bandaged and we went home. When we got home he took off the bandage to get it cleaned out and got worried because it was deeper than he thought. He decided to call instacare to find out if we should go in. They said I should go in to get a tetanus shot and get it cleaned out even if it didn't need stitches. So we went in. They numbed my foot and cleaned it out. The doctor said that I would have to get stitches. So that was a really fun way to spend last night.
I woke up this morning with my arm and foot both killing me. (My foot was still mostly numb when I went to bed.) I don't remember having a tetanus shot before but I have decided that I hate them. I got sick tonight from the shot and have felt like crap. This is the first time that I have ever had stitches before, and it sucks. So that's my fun story of how accident prone I have been the last few days.

First steps

Alton took his first steps last Thursday.
I can't believe that my baby is going to celebrate his first birthday in a month.
He's grown up too fast!

Conversation with Eadie

We're in the hall looking at Teya's hamster, Cinnamon. (I take him out of their room at night so he doesn't keep them awake.)

Eadie: "Why is Cinnamon so cute?"

Me: "Cause Heavenly Father made him that way."

Eadie: "Aren't baby animals cute."

Me: "Yeah, they are."

Eadie: "I wish I could get a baby kitty."

Me: "I know. When you grow up you can. But then I won't be able to come visit." (I'm allergic)

Eadie: "I can come visit you at your house."

Me: "Okay, will you bring your kids?"

Eadie: "I would love to! It's a good thing you're not allergic to kids, cause then you wouldn't have me."
