Goldie Locks

Alton's hair is getting really long. He pretty much has a mullet now, although you can't tell because it's so curly. He gets called a girl a lot because of his hair, even if he is dressed all in blue. People always comment on his curly blond hair, (where did he get curly blond hair when he comes from a family of brunettes with straight hair) and how beautiful he is. Our neighbor said that she couldn't stop looking at him because he is just so beautiful and has such beautiful curly hair. I love his hair and I can't stand the thought of cutting off all those curls. My Mom actually suggested cutting it since he is mistaken for a girl so often. I said that I didn't care what people thought. I know he's a boy and that's really all that matters. These pictures really don't do his hair justice. You'd have to see it in real life to get the full effect.

Smarty pants

I'm surprised sometimes by how smart my kids are. Orin knows a lot of letters by sight and all the numbers. He decided he was going to draw some on the white board.

Some of them are hard to decipher so I will translate. Starting at the top from left to right: 6, 4, 1, 7, 5, W, X, A, B. The picture is me. The lines coming out from the sides of my head are ears.

At church yesterday he wrote the word prophet by looking at the key to this puzzle. For only being 3 years old I was really impressed.

Little old man

After helping Orin get dressed he decided to put on his own socks and shoes. I thought he looked like an old man with his dark dress socks so I had to take a picture.

Teenie tiny voice

Alton has two things that he says now. He says "uh-oh" and "what's that". It's so fun to listen to him talk in his little tiny voice. We all love listening to him.

Party #2

We had a family party for Alton yesterday. He had a lot of fun eating his cake!

Alton's Birthday

For Alton's birthday we went to the zoo. This was a new experience for him since the first time he went he was only a few weeks old. He was so interested in the animals and had a really good time.

This was the boy's first time on a carousel. They have one at the zoo now.

Tuckered out!

Independance Day

We had a very busy and fun 4th of July. By the time the day was over I was exhausted. It wasn't nearly as hot as usual which was especially nice for the parade. We enjoyed the holiday and spending time with family!

Teya was a little sad that she missed watching the parade since she was in it.

I can't believe that it's already been a year. Time goes by so fast.

Ring around the rosie

On Saturday Alton started to get sick. He had a high fever, was really grumpy and didn't want to eat anything. It just got worse so I took him to the doctor on Monday. She checked him out and even did a throat culture to see if he had strep. She couldn't really find anything so she just figured he had a sore throat. Then yesterday he woke up with a rash all over his chest, back, neck and part of his face. I took him back to the doctor and it turns out he has roseola. The doctor said the rash doesn't hurt, itch or cause any discomfort but I still feel bad for the little guy.

Unplanned

I really hate posting pictures of myself on here even though it is my blog. I always think that pictures of me are ugly and I don't like them, so it's hard to find anything that I don't think is completely hideous to show others. (Ash why aren't you here to take some good pictures of me?)

Anyway, I went in to get my hair cut the other day. I was just going in to have a little trim and I ended up walking out with this. I still don't know how exactly it happened. After she finished cutting it, my stylist said "I think I like it better short". I was going to grow it out, but I've had a lot of compliments so I'm not sure if I will or not. It's so much easier to do when it's short and since I'm a small person short hair looks good on me. I think the best part of the whole thing is that no one knew I was going in for a trim so when Justin came home from work he was surprised to find me with a new hair cut.
